Jan 24th | MLB Prospect Pricing Ladder | Bubba Climbing, Adell / Royce / Heliot are rocking!

As we near the start of Spring Training we are moving to a weekly report for 2017 Bowman Draft tracker. You’ll start to see a lot more price movements in Feb / March as guys start off hot. This week we saw the Top 3 guys continue to build their dominance. Jo Adell, Royce Lewis, and Heliot Ramos each moved in the positive direction. The bottom 6 all declined. Prepare yourself for a LOT of this shuffling throughout the season!!

Before we dive in to this week’s report, we want to thank our sponsor for the MLB PRICING LADDERBig Hurt 35. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Bryan and his BH35 breaks, get over to his website or breaker page!

MLB Prospect Pricing Ladder

For all previous weeks, go HERE.

Week from 1/12 – 1/19

Overall Average Base Auto Sales Price = $20.02

Change from Week Prior = -38%

(SOLD ITEM VOLUME declined by 21%)

This tells me one thing, there are fewer available / sold base autos from the top of the list (because folks are holding and supply is drying up) AND folks are buying up the cheaper auto’s. This drives the AVERAGE sold price down. Not to worry!

Quick Thoughts:

  • Adell SSP the supply and demand will keep this a very hot item. If he performs well, watch out!
  • Bubba Thompson Up 4 spots into the Top 10 – increase of 57% this week.
  • 12 Prospects over $20 (up 1 this week) Continues to impress with the depth of this product.
  • Investment Time If you are looking to start investing in players, now is the time. Bottom is early-mid Jan. Gobble them up!

Criteria

We run reports on all prospects’ Bowman Draft BASE AUTO sales for a given period. We exclude any variation, auto, insert, graded, or memorabilia prices to make sure you are getting a good representation of the actual base auto pricing. We use Base Auto prices as a baseline because they are considered by many to be the de facto standard for “base” prospect cards for MLB players. We also do our best to remove the countless MISLABELED listings for players, but there is always a chance a random auction can slightly skew the #’s. We’ll keep a close eye.

We will run a separate MLB RC price tracker after Topps Series 1 is released.
